    Exchange Server prerequisites

    Why use any prerequirements sctipt?
After SP1 you just need to

    1. Add .NET Framework
    2. Run setup and check checkbox "Add required windows features"

FIlterPack can be installed any time

Hi Vojinle, I've done a lot of installs and in a small number of cases ticking the checkbox during setup hasn't prevented the installation from stopping due to missing pre-requisites. So I make it a habit to install the pre-requisites in advance to be 100% sure they are taken care of, and Pat's script is a great way to do that.

Paul - Great help with the bootcamp ex 2010. Just finished Mod 1. Waiting for other Mod to complete as and when they are made available.

Just one quick question - How can, I download and save the video files that you have included in the Mod 1? I have printed the text details but would like to have the video for reference (later use).

    Thanks

Ramg1967, if you install the download add-on in firefox, like download helper, you can save the video lesson.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm working on module 2 as we speak, may have it available very early next week at this stage. Hoping my new microphone arrives today though so the new modules have better audio

Also to add, some organizations as ours have different teams responsible for the Servers and the Messaging; so server team ensures the pre-reqs are in place on the servers before Exchange team gets in to do their thing. Also not to forget, as part of the pre-reqs, the additions with Forest and Domain preps can take time to replicate to all controllers depending on the organization. Definitely something I would not do and recommend while doing something big like installing exchange. Better to keep them separate.
